The Refuge du Grenairon, built in 1910, was one of the first refuges in the Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval municipality.
At 1,950 m above sea-level it offers a fabulous 360° panorama: Mont Buet, Mont Blanc, the Fiz Massif, the Giffre Valley...
And lying at the gateway to the Sixt nature reserve, it offers an opportunity to observe the local wildlife: ibex, bearded vultures, marmots...
It is a night-stop for those on a hiking tour or heading for the summits:
Tour des Fiz, Tour du Ruan, Tour du Haut Giffre, Tour du Mont Buet, Tour des Aiguilles Rouges, Tour du Pays du Mont Blanc, Mont Buet, Cheval Blanc...
Whether with the family or with friends, the Refuge du Grenairon is accessible to everyone, during the day or for an evening.
During the day we offer a menu of home-made main courses and desserts, in the evening a meal ideally suited to walkers, to forget those tired legs!
The Chèvrerie de l'Alpage du Grenairon also offers their goat cheeses produced on-site.
